Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) the development of learning media pocket book of flood disaster preparedness in social studies subjects class VII Muhammadiyah 9 Ngemplak in Hidrosfer subchapters, and (2) the criteria of learning media for hydrosfer pocket books for flood preparedness needed in the eyes social studies class VII in the Hydrosphere sub-chapter. This research is a Research and Development (R & D) research, which is an experimental method with nonequivalent control group design which is almost the same as the pretest-posttest control group design but in this design the experimental and control groups were not randomly selected. The pocket book media has passed the validation stage by material experts and media experts with an average value of 3.2 with the category "GOOD" and declared feasible to be used in the learning process. The pretest and posttest test results in the control class experienced an average increase of 17% and the experimental class experienced an average increase of 29%. The increase in the experimental class is higher than the control class, meaning that the pocket book media is declared feasible to be used in the learning process.
