Abstract
The market is a gathering place for sellers and buyers to make buying and selling transactions. Wiradesa Market is located at JL. A Yani Wiradesa built on a land area of 18,244 m2, with a building area of 13,071 m2. According to records from the Disperindag of Cooperatives and SMEs in Pekalongan Regency in 2012, Wiradesa Market has 46 shop houses, 265 kiosks, 1,059 stalls and 18 market managers, 1,703 traders: 1,085 active traders and 618 passive traders, while retail traders reach 334 (not having a permanent stall). This retail trader does not have a permanent stall so it uses an area that is not supposed to be a place to trade. This makes the market around the market rundown and unfit to sell, lack of adequate parking and lack of greening around the market. The availability of access to dffables is almost non-existent. Another problem is the activity of loading and unloading goods carried out on the side of a highway that disrupts traffic flow. The aim of redesigning the Wiradesa Traditional Market is to change the image of a slum, dirty market to attract the younger generation with modern facilities with facades that are also modern architecture, sustainable architecture applied to air conditioning, lighting and the energy needed by building markets all come from nature thus creating a sense of comfort for visitors.
