Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve the results of social studies learning for fourth grade students of SD N 03 Sukorejo by using the Team Games Tournamnet (TGT) learning strategy. This type of research is classroom action research. Data collection techniques with observation, interviews, tests and documentation. To test the validity of the data in this study using source triangulation and method triangulation. Qualitative data analysis techniques with interactive models and quantitative data analysis techniques with descriptive statistics. The results in this study can be concluded that the social studies learning outcomes of the fourth grade students at SD N 03 Sukorejo are still low in the pre cycle ie the average value of 65 with the percentage of completeness is 37.5%. After taking action using the TGT strategy, in the first cycle the average value increased to 70 with a percentage of completeness of 62.5% and increased again in cycle II with an average value of 81 with a percentage of completeness 87.5%. Thus the use of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) strategy can improve the social studies learning outcomes of fourth grade students at SD N 03 Sukorejo.
