Abstract

Character education is needed in order to create quality future generations of the nation. This study aims to (1) describe the implementation of planting the character of patriotism and communicative through scout extracurricular (2) describing the planting of the character of patriotism and communicative through scout extracurricular (3) describing the obstacles in forming the character of patriotism and communicative (4) describing the solution is done in the face of obstacles to the formation of the character of patriotism and communicative. This type of research is qualitative research. Data collection techniques used are interviews, observation and documentation. The validity of the data uses source triangulation and technical triangulation. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results showed that (1) the scout extracurricular activity was carried out routinely once a week on Thursday after returning home from school to the upper class (2) planting the love character of the homeland through teaching not to discriminate in friends, teaching how to maintain culture, singing both compulsory and national songs, through learning material (3) planting communicative characters through collaboration and mutual cooperation, deliberation, teaching each other's encouragement among friends (4) the obstacles encountered are differences in student character, different abilities of students and due to factors environment that is less supportive (5) the solution used is that the teacher is always patient and establishes good communication with students, provides guidance to students who lack ability, the school works with parents so that character building can be carried out in the home environment so that it can be maximally achieved.
