Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine: (1) differences in the use of simulation methods with storytelling methods on the results of thematic learning learning in fourth grade students at SD Djama’atul Ichwan Surakarta; (2) better application between the use of simulation methods and storytelling methods on the results of learning thematic learning in fourth grade elementary school students Djama’atul Ichwan Surakarta. This type of research uses quantitative research, the actual experimental research design with the type Randomized Control-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The type of sampling used is cluster random sampling, as the sample selected class IV C consists of 28 students and IV D consists of 27 students. Data collection techniques through tests and documents. Test questions were tested and validity tested and reliability tested. The data analysis technique used is the analysis prerequisite test using normality test, homogeneity test, while the hypothesis test uses the t test. The results of data analysis with a significant level of 5% obtained tcount> ttable that is 2.224> 2.006 with the average value of the thematic learning learning outcomes of the class applying the simulation method is greater than the average value that applies the storytelling method that is 94.753> 92.247. The conclusions are (1) there are differences in thematic learning learning outcomes in the use of simulation methods and method of storytelling fourth grade elementary school students Djama’atul Ichwan Surakarta 2017/2018 school year. (2) the simulation method is better than the method of telling the thematic learning outcomes of fourth grade students of SD Djama’tul Ichwan Surakarta in the academic year 2017/2018.
