Abstract
Introduction: Toddlers were the initial age or foundation for growth and development towards the next age. A preliminary survey in July 2017 there is 9.94% of toddlers with less nutritional status based on the indicator weight according to age. One of the factors the causes of changes of nutritional status, namely the lack of the mother's knowledge level and low income families that result directly on the availability of food at home so the family feed on intake is insufficient. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of mother's knowledge and family income with the provision of food intake for toddlers. Method: The type of research used was observational with cross sectional research design. The populations of this study were all children were registered at the three Posyandu of Joho village, with a sample of 47 toddlers selected randomly using simple random sampling. The level of mother's knowledge was measured by answering the questionnaire and family income as seen from the toddler's curriculum vitae that had been given and food intake measured by 24-hour recall method for 3 consecutive times. The results of the research test were analyzed by Chi-square test. Results: A total of 66% of mothers of children under five had a good level of knowledge and 63,8% had more family income than MWW (Minimum Work Wage). Respondents with a sufficient level of energy intake need 76.59% and enough protein intakes as much as 53.19%. Test result data and knowledge level of intake feeding (energy) in the get the value p = 0,004 and meal (protein) intake p = 0.005. Test result data income families with eating (energy) intake p = 0.000 and meal (protein) intake p = 0,014. Conclusion: There is a relationship between the level of knowledge of mothers with the provision of food intake in toddlers.
