Abstract
Scholoogy is a form of new innovation as a companion media in the learning process of the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta which was initiated by the Quality Assurance Institution (LJM) institution under the auspices of the university which aims to improve academic quality through an online-based learning program namely Schoology. The purpose of this study was to determine and describe the process of adoption of learning using schoology applications on lecturers of Surakarta Muhammadiyah University with the approach of the theory of diffusion of innovation. Diffusion Theory of Innovation explains the process of disseminating information or new things from one source to the recipients in a social system and takes place very conceptually. This research is a qualitative research and uses in-depth interview techniques to collect data and is supported by secondary data that researchers obtain from documents. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling by looking for several people who the researchers considered to have in-depth information and knowledge related to the topic of this research. Data analysis was done using the Miles and Huberman models, then validated by source triangulation techniques. In this study, it can be concluded that through the number of Knowledge stages, Persuasion (Invitation Phase), Decision (Decision), Implementation (implementation) and Confirmation (confirmation) results of this study can be concluded that the adoption process of scholoogy innovation shows that in conveying and adopting innovation using communication channels through workshops held by LJM and this research uses group communication channels. The importance of changing the more advanced learning methods in order to improve the quality of education of Surakarta Muhammadiyah University lecturers decided to adopt sholoogy and succeeded in making students more active and creative but still not completely replacing ordinary conventional learning methods.
