Abstract
In adolescent girls there is a physical change that results in an increase in body fat, it causes an eating disorder. Factors that influence eating disorders are body perception. Body perception is an individual's view of his body shape, adolescents who have a positive body perception will feel satisfied with their body shape and vice versa if having a negative body perception will be at risk of eating disorders. This study aims to determine the relationship between body perception with eating disorders in female students of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Muhammadiyah University, Surakarta. This study was an observational study using Cross Sectional approach, the number of subjects was 91 respondents. Body perception data obtained from the results of the MBSRQ-US questionnaire and eating disorders were obtained from the results of the EAT-40 questionnaire. The analysis in this study uses Pearson Product Moment statistical test. Students who have positive body perception (52.7%) while negative body perception (47.3%). Students who have no risk of eating disorders (42.9%) while those who are at risk of eating disorders (57.1%). There was no significant relationship between body perception with eating disorders in female students of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta, with a value of p = 0.565.
