Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the learning media of booklets volcanic eruption material on the level of disaster preparedness in extracurricular Disaster Preparedness Schools in Klaten State 1 Middle School. This research was conducted on July 23, 2018. This study included part of the research method pre-experimental design using the experimental design of One Group Pretest-Posttest Design with 30 respondents namely participants in the extracurricular activities of the Disaster Preparedness School in Klaten State 1 Middle School. The research instrument is a test of learning outcomes (pretest posttest). To test the hypothesis used is the Paired Sample T-Test.The results of this study indicate that: 1). In the paired t-test,the results obtained are sig.2 tailed 0.000 <0.05 then H0is rejected, means that there is a significant difference between the average values before treatment with average grades after treatment, 2) the mean average value pretest or before treatment 65 while on the average score posttest or after treatment to 89, things showed a significant increase. So it can be concluded that the use of media booklet on volcanic eruption material is effective in improving disaster preparedness in extracurricular Disaster Preparedness Schools.
