Abstract
Surakarta is the Centre of activities and high mobility as well as the construction of such a rapid. The level of mobility and high development create the environmental conditions on the wane in particular increase in surface temperature in urban areas. Rising temperatures in urban areas resulting in a significant temperature differences between regions or towns and villages outside the city. The difference in temperature is higher in urban areas with non city called the Urban Heat Island effect (heat island effect). The purpose of this research is (1) to analyze the spread of the LST and UHI in Surakarta city year 2016-2018, (2) analyze data differences of surface temperature of land cover classification based on Region of Interset (ROI) in Surakarta city year 2018. The methods used in this research is descriptive qualitative, with the method of sampling using a purposive sampling method stratified. One of the methods used for Urban Heat Island (UHI) is doing the extraction from remote sensing image data by lowering the Land Surface Temperature (LST). The population in this research is the surface temperature. The results of this research show that; (1) the spatial spread of the LST and UHI in Surakarta in three series of the time period (in 2016-2018) demonstrates the uptrend and the difference in value. The spread of the LST and UHI tend to be clumped in Surakarta in scope, as well as experience the distribution and changes of kenampakkan classification primarily on the North and South of the city of Surakarta. Change the value of each of the classifications tend to be varied and dynamic, (2) temperature Difference of each classification of ROI is directly proportional to the temperature, the surface temperature is affected by land cover material. Each land cover materials have the ability how big can heat absorbed and released due to electromagnetic radiation of the Sun. Land cover classification of the building has the highest temperature compared to other land cover. Whereas land cover vegetation have a surface temperature classification tend to be lower. Keywords: surface temperature, UHI, LST, ROI
