Abstract
This study aimed to determine the improvement of cognitive development of children through saying while counting on children of A group at Mardisiwi Islamic Kindergarten in Pajang, Laweyan, Surakarta of the Academic Year of 2017/2018. This research a classroom action research. The subject of the study was students of group A was Islamic Kindergarten in Pajang, Laweyan, Surakarta Mardisiwi. This study was conducted using two cycles in four meetings. The procedure of this study was in four stages planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data on improving children's cognitive development were collected through observation, documentation and interview methods. This research used triangulation method by searching data from various data sources.. The prior of the implementation, the result was 44%, the first cycle reached 73% but the second of the cycle fist meeting decreased by 69%. Unfortunately in the second meeting of the second cycle reached 87% but. The conclusion of this study at was that learning by saying while counting could improve children cognitive development children of grup A Mardisiwi Islamic Kindergarten in Pajang, Surakarta of the Academic Year of 2017/2018.
