Abstract
The communication that occurrs in Krawiran Village Tegalrejo, is an intercultural communication between Muslims and Christians. The harmony of Krawiran Village tegalrejo society can be found in Nyadran Tradition. Nyadran is an old tradition of giving offering and respect to the ancestors. Nyadran is originally a Hindu tradition that has been merge to Javanese culture and Islam by Wali songo by acculturation process. The purpose of the research is to know how the intercultural communication among different believer in creating harmony in Nyadran tradition in Kwiran Village, Tegalrejo. The theory used in this research is Social interaction concept and intercultural communication, symbolic interaction that stated by George H Mead. This research used descriptive qualitative with data collection technique by observation and deep interview. The informants of this research are five people of the head family with different religious background that reside in Kwiran Village tegalrejo. The result of the research is Nyadran tradition can bring the society closer to reach the harmony among differences in religious beliefs. In nyadran Tradition, there are some local wisdom that can be found such as cooperation among society, sacrifice And economy. Intercultural communication that occurs in the tradition can create interaction in associative pattern. The tolerance attitude conducted by muslims to Christians, respect and appreciation to others are the the strong foundation in creating the Harmony in Kwiran village tegalrejo
