Abstract
Essential oils from clove flowers contain 23 main components, with the largest content of eugenol is around 90%. The method that will be used in taking clove oil by ultrasonic extraction method. The process of taking essential oils in this study, using 96% ethanol and n-hexane. The time used to extract the clove flower which has been mashed with a size of 20 mesh is 3 hours with a variation of the solvent ratio 1: 5, 1:10, and 1:15 which applies to both solvents. The results showed that the yield obtained from 96% ethanol solvent was 1: 5 = 7,926, 1: 10 = 6,318, 1: 15 = 5,172 while the yield obtained from n-hexane solvent was 1: 5 = 2,380, 1: 10 = 2,083, 1: 15 = 1,856. So that the yield obtained better by using 96% ethanol solvent and the method carried out easier and safer does not damage the content in the oil
