Arrester is a tool to protect protection equipment on 150 kV Substation Wonogiri Parent against lightning or surja surja hyphen, in the installation of the arrester there is optimum layout i.e. where the arrester protects the equipment corresponds to the distance specified. Optimum layout of the arrester himself greatly affects the performance of the arrester to protect equipment. The goal of penilitan is to determine the maximum distance of the arrester at the Substation Wonogiri Stem 150 kV and compare with the distance on the field, the calculation of the maximum distance meperbaiki can be done in order for the system to be more optimal and work very effective. This research uses a single line diagram of the parent booths to analyze the arrester and transformer substation attached to a stem, transformer and arrester are analyzed in this research is the transformer I type CG PAUWELS, arresterI by the transformer type 1 OHIO BRAS PH310GV132, and arrester II bay rayum 2 type ABB AB EXLIM P150-GV170. The methods used to complete the calculation of the maximum distance arrester with optimization method, by determining the maximum value the most optimal. The result of the analysis of the determination of the optimum layout of Lightning Arrester at the Substation Wonogiri 150 kV Parent get the maximum distance between the transformer and arrester i.e. 22.48 m, while in the field distance arrester I 3 m and a distance of arrester II 25 m. distance to the arrester I very nice to protect the special transformer and not nice to protect the network system busbar/line, seangkan for arrester II to protect the transformer is not good because it is still far above the maximum distance, but very good to protect part of the network system.
