Abstract
Ergonomics is a science used to balance all facilities used both in activity and rest with the ability and limitations of both physical and mental so that the overall quality of life is better. In UKM Gress Tenan, which still rely heavily on human labor, ergonomic aspects are very important to consider. Very often work performance and conditions of workers feel uncomfortable at work, and experience complaints of musculoskeletal injury or disease. To find out the work posture experienced by the operator in the pelorodan process and batik cloth, it is necessary to do research on the posture based on the Posture Evaluation Index (PEI) and the design of work stations on the pelorodan process and batik cloth to support operator comfort in working UKM Gress Tenan in the form of virtual environment with software Jack. Based on the results with a questionnaire Nordic Body Map can be known part of the worker's body that feels very sick at the waist, and hands. Based on the PEI method, it was found that the working posture on the pelorodan station and the actual conditions obtained PEI value of 2,27 and the proposed PEI of 1,44. From these results obtained a decrease of 63.43% of the proposals given. These results indicate improvements in operator working conditions and can reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injury to the operator. The design of the proposed work station gives a proposal regarding the fuel being replaced, an adjustable table that can be changed in height to put a cloth, a place to sit used in washing cloth and rinsing the cloth, and lowering the height of the tub in rinsing the cloth by adjusting the operator's posture conditions when sitting.
