Abstract

This study aims to determine how the percentage of agricultural land conversion to non-agricultural land and to find out whether the occurrence of land conversion affects food self-sufficiency in Kartasura District, Sukoharjo Regency. The research method is a descriptive sociological juridical approach. This type of data uses primary data, namely a number of information or facts in the field obtained through interviews, while secondary data is obtained from primary, secondary, and tertiary legal sources books. Data collection method through purposive sampling by generalizing statistics or just representing the population. Data that has been collected and processed will be discussed using the deductive method. The results of the study show that land conversion is very influential on food self-sufficiency, in fact in the village, the high rate of conversion cannot fulfill its own food self-sufficiency. The average percentage of conversion of agricultural land into residential areas each year is 7.4%. If land conversion continues to be carried out massively, then in the next twelve years it does not rule out the possibility of experiencing a maximum limit of the scope of land allowed to be converted.
