Abstract

Research on Tree Ecology at Sebelas Maret University Campus Area (UNS) Surakarta in May 2018. This study aims To determine the ecology of trees in the SebelasMaret University Campus area of Surakarta. This study uses descriptive quantitative with exploratory techniques. The sampling method using Purpossive Random Sampling is the sampling technique used when the tree ecology in the forest area of UNS Surakarta campus, Angsana tree (Pterocarpusindicus) from Papilionaceae tribe as the host is able to adapt to tropical and sub tropical areas with temperature ranging from 22- 23 ° C. there are 8 types of organisms that consist of Aves, Reptilia, Insects, Lichen, and epiphytes. Animals found in the ecology of the campus area of UNS Surakarta include Passer montana, Oecophyllasmaragdina, Lycosapseudoannulata, Lymantriidae caterpillar, Dasia olivacea, Gonyocephalus sp. some are animals that are resistant to extreme weather. The most abundant animal distribution found in each station is Oecophyllasmaragdina, which is an insect or ant that is one of the groups said to be a biological indicator, as a tool to monitor changes in the quality of the environment.
