Abstract

The dynamics of Islamic education system has given birth to a new form of Islamic education system in the form of excellent schools. Excellent schools are present in response to improving the quality of Islamic education which has been in a low position. One of the leading Islamic schools in attendance is SMP Al Qolam Muhammadiyah Gemolong. SMP Al Qolam Muhammadiyah Gemolong born with a new nuance of Islamic education system that is expected to be an alternative education in the midst of society. This research is a research that tries to reveal the case of the development of leading schools related to the dynamics of the education system contained in SMP Al Qolam Muhammadiyah Gemolong. This research is a field research with qualitative approach of history, and technique of collecting data by observation, interview and documentation. While the data analysis technique using interactive model data analysis. From the research result shows that: in the development of SMP Al Qolam Muhammadiyah Gemolong experiencing dynamics in education system which dynamics happened with through five stages which include (a) problem identification stage that PCM Gemolong unrest will low quality of Muhammadiyah education and aspiration from elementary guardian Aisyiyah to establish schools with models such as elementary school, (b) stage of an alternative problem solving that is between repairing a standing school or establishing a new school. So that it was decided to build a new school (c) the stages of choosing a new strategy that is with the fullday school system, and (d) the implementation stages that take place and cause changes in some elements of education covering the management recruitment of educators and learners, financing, facilities and infrastructure curriculum, and (e) evaluation stage. While the forms of dynamics of SMP Al Qolam Muhammadiyah Gemolong there are two things that include school governance and culture. In the governance, SMP Al Qolam Muhammadiyah Gemolong led by the figure of a professional headmaster who in the school management is always supported by the existence of innovative policies. While the school culture contained in SMP Al Qolam Muhammadiyah Gemolong measured from the vision that has been set that is "Thinking Smart and achieving, Noble and Islamic". From that vision then was born an attitude that was implemented in everyday life by all citizens of SMP Al Qolam Muhammadiyah Gemolong. And the culture is applied in the form of common culture, cultures of worship, order, neatness and cleanliness, social behavior, and eating and drinking.
