Abstract
The existence of laboratories in schools is very important in supporting biology teaching and learning activities. The existence of the laboratory is expected that the biology teaching process can be implemented optimally. Every laboratory in the school should have good laboratory management, so that practicum activities can be done smoothly. The purpose of this research is to know preparation, implementation, and evaluation by laboratory to support practicum activity in SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta. The type of research used is qualitative research by using descriptive analysis. The subjects of this study were laboratory assistants, biology teachers, and students. Surakarta Senior High School 5 School is a school that is accredited A. Data collection techniques used are observation, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The results of observation, interview, questionnaire and documentation were analyzed using descriptive technique percentage. The results of the study based on laboratory and student questionnaires were seen from the preparation, implementation, and evaluation process showing that the laboratory of SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta had a very good category with an average percentage of 82%. Then based on the questionnaire of biology subject teachers about laboratory management in the laboratory obtained an average yield of 98%. Therefore it can be concluded that the management of biology laboratories SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta already included in the category very well.
