Abstract

Prosocial behaviour is needed by adolescents to co-exist in the community, because everyone requires help of others to meet the necessities of life. The purpose of this researchis to determine the relationship between spiritual intelligence and prosocial behaviour in teenagers. The hypothesis is that there is a positive relationship between spiritual intelligence and prosocial behaviour in teenagers. Population is 399 and subjects in this research is students of SMP Negeri 1 Karanggede class VII & VIII which amounted to 130 students. The sampling technique is used cluster non random sampling wit. The method of collecting data in this research is using quantitative approach and measuring tool used in this research is the scale of Prosocial Behaviour and the scale of Spiritual Intelligence. The method of analysing data is used product moment technique. The result of this research is r = 0.621; p = 0.000 indicating that there is a significant positive relationship between spiritual intelligence and prosocial behaviour. The higher the spiritual intelligence in teenagersso the higher the prosocial behaviour. The level of spiritual intelligence and the level of prosocial behaviour in this researchis high. The effective contribution (SE) of spiritual intelligence is 39% and there are still 61% of other factors that influence prosocial behaviour this self-gain and emphaty.
