Abstract
Appendicitis is an inflammation of the appendix caused by blockages can be a fecalite, worms and grains. The surgical procedure is still the main choice in their treatment. Appendectomy, which allows for invasion by the normal flora of the skin. For this reason, the need for prophylactic antibiotics before surgery. This study was used to determine and evaluate patients with surgical appendicitis. Evaluation of the accuracy of the use of data is done by comparing medical records using laboratory data and data by using prophylactic policies in Dr. RSUD's Moewardi. This research is descriptive and is retrospectively based on medical data records. The data from this population is data that causes patients who will undergo surgical procedures. Evaluate the accuracy of the accuracy of the indication, patient, drug, and dosage which consists of the size of the dose, frequency, frequency, duration, and time of prophylactic antibiotics. Of the 79 patients studied, there were 1 patient (1.3%) out of a total of 79 patients who were right / rational and in accordance with the guidelines. The irrationality of prophylactic antibiotics in many cases is inappropriate, as many as 50 patients (63.3%) The drug used does not match the criteria of the profile in Dr. Moewardi.
