Abstract

Biology is a part of science learning which science developed and understood one of them through scientific steps applied in the implementation of the lab. Biological laboratory is an important tool in making laboratory practicum implementation effective if the availability of laboratory facilities and infrastructure is adequate in accordance with Government Regulation No. 24 of 2007. Laboratory management is also very important with regard to good practice of preparation, implementation and evaluation. The purpose of this research is to find out how the preparation, implementation and evaluation conducted by the laboratory in order to support the practical activities in SMA Negeri 8 Surakarta. Qualitative descriptive research collected is not in the form of numerical data, but data derived from interviews, field notes, school documents and notes or research memos. Techniques of collecting data in the form of observation, documentation, questionnaires, and interviews. The results obtained from this study is the school has a good laboratory management of the preparation process obtained from laboratory and student questionnaire that is 100% and 69.4% for the implementation process of 0% and 73.8% and for the evaluation process of 60% and 69.6%. For the overall management of laboratories in SMA Negeri 8 Surakarta has a good category and infrastructure facilities available in accordance with Permendiknas No 24 of 2007.
