Abstract

Personality can be interpreted as patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviors that are often used for everyday. Each individual in a variety of problems will cause different psychological reactions. Psychological reactions that arise one of them is stress. Stress can free patients to release catecholamines (epinephrine and norepinephrine) which can cause an increase in heart rate. This can affect the disease of congestive heart failure. Congestive heart failure is the inability of the heart to maintain the calories needed to meet metabolic needs. To find out how the type personality of congestive heart failure sufferers in RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta. This research is quantitative research using analytical survey as the research methods. 30 respondents of congestive heart failuer sufferers are taken using purposive sampling. Technique of analyzing the data is central tendency. The results of this study are characteristics of patients with congestive heart failure in RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta majority aged 50-60 years. The majority of respondens have male gender. Most of respondent’s education is High School and Middle School. The work of respondents is mostly farmers/traders/laborer. Based on the results of the study showed that the type personality of patients with congestive heart failure in RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta is lagerly extrovert.
