Abstract

Adolescence is one among an individual's life span between childhood and adulthood. This periodadolescents are undergoing the process of identity search, teenagers who commit norm violations will feel proud if peers are not able to do so. The behavior of adolescents now tend to mengarag on negative things such as alcohol parties, wild races, and even involved prostitution.The purpose of this study was to determine the self-concept in “cabe- cabean” adolescent. Method used in this research is descriptive qualitative approach. Data analysis techniques used by researchers in this study is a qualitative approach with phenomenological method. Results of research based on the analysis and discussion in this study can be concluded that self-concept can be seen from three aspects: aspects of the physical image, the image of the psychological aspects, and aspects of self-image. “Cabe- cabean”adolescentwant to appear more prominent than their peers, both in terms of physical appearance, clothing used, and gadgets owned. The desire to appear more prominent than those of peers,“cabe- cabean” perform ways to be able to fulfil all their needs by utilizing a lover and a friend who was a wild race environment.
