Abstract
Body image mean is the picture of our bodies and formed throught our thoughts. Althought people don’t have a clear picture of body image, but they alrady have a shadows to used in body shaping and behaviour. It means that body image is already in their thinked. This study aims to examine how the communications process that occurs between girls with their mothers. The type of research is qualitative with qualitative content analysis approach. Informant were determined using the snowball sampling technique. Reaserchers of 3 pairs of mother and daughter. Technique of collecting data of this research use in-depth interview technique to get deep data. In addition to the interview also uses documentation. Data analysis use qualitative content analysis techniques and data validity using member check techniques. The result of this research are several proceses: 1). Early communications between girls with their mother. Girls express their concern about her body image to their mother; 2). Giving support frome mothers to thire daughters. Mothers provide support in the form of motivational words and constructive suggestions to their children; 3). Determination 2 of the rules of provide rules to girls. Mothers provide rules to girls how girls should look, rules are adapted to norms of decency and religion; 4). The formatin of beautiful concept. The beautiful concept is formed based on the urgent communication between the girls and their mothers. Educations in family spahre becomes one of the factors that can influence a child’s view of body image. Mothers can serves as models that can be imitate and follow by their doughter. The doughter perspective about positive and negative body image is depends on how education provide within family.
