Abstract
This research is aimed at finding and describing the constraints in the English teaching-learning process in SDN 1 Jetis Sukoharjo. The problem of the research is what the constraints are in the English teaching-learning process. In this research, the writer adopts naturalistic approach. The data are taken from observation, interview, and another source that the writer found. She also analyzed the data by categorizing, deciding, and strengthening. The data are the constraints in teaching-learning English to elementary school students in SDN 1 Jetis Sukoharjo. Based on the result of data analysis, the writer finds seven constraints faced by the teacher, namely the students do not want to take a risk, the students do not have high motivation to learn, the naughty students, unsuitable material with the syllabus, the spaces between desk, and the last is the noisy level. Five constraints faced by the students. The constraints are: the lack of method, being unfair teacher, lack of teaching media, the lack of the time, the location of the equipment.
