Abstract
Environmental issues aren’t individual issues but also issues and responsibilities of all people in the world.It’s undeniable that humans and nature have been very unfriendly.Indonesia is the heart and lungs of the world that often become the driving force of the creation of harmony and environmental sustainability in the world.In order to protecting environmental sustainability, the role of government becomes very important,both central government and regional governments.The central government has the authority to enact regulations to protect the environment by Undang – Undang Nomor 32 Tahun 2009 while the regional government has the authority to issue environmental permits with the issuance of Undang – Undang Nomor 23 Tahun 2014. This authority is the one of the responsibilities of the regional government regarding its participation in protecting the environment. It will reduce the risk of environmental damage if regional government and central government cooperate with each other in preventing any possible abuse of authority.
