Abstract
Chili plant is one of the leading commodity farmers due to its high value. Failed harvest on crops caused by pests chili Spodoptera litura very detrimental to farmers. In order to plant chili not marred by pests one attempt is to use pesticides. Tembelekan leaves have potential as a natural insecticide for Spodoptera litura insect attacks on crops of chili. The content of tembelekan leaves that serves as a natural insecticide is steroids, saponins, and tannins. The purpose of this research is to know the effectiveness of tembelekan leaf extract as a natural insecticide for the control of caterpillars grayak (Spodoptera litura) on plant in vitro in chili. This research is a research experiment with quantitative and descriptive data analysis using single line variant analysis (Oneway Anova). This research consists of 5 treatments with single factor, namely the type of extract (X), x 1 = tembelekan leaf extract 10 ml, x 2 = 15 ml tembelekan leaf extract, X 3 = tembelekan leaf extract 20 ml, X 4 = tembelekan leaf extract 25 ml and control 100 ml tembelekan leaf extract. Research results can be summed up the natural insecticide tembelekan leaf extract with 25% concentration of most influence on mortality and tembelekan leaf extract had no effect on the activity of eating grubs grayak.
