Abstract

The purpose of this study (1) to develop video teaching media in grade VII students (2) to know the level of students' understanding in class VII of landslide disaster material using video teaching media. The method used is research development (Research and Development) procedural model adapted from Sugiyono. The results of this study are as follows: (1) video teaching media has been validated by material experts and media experts, validation test according to the material expert of 91.7%, while the validation test according to the media expert of 90% (2) hypothesis result by using test t two independent (Independent Sample T Test) shows there are differences in learning outcomes between the control class and the experimental class. The average value of control class that is class VII B at the time of pre test is 56,9 while the average value of post test is 68,6. And the results obtained in the experimental class in class VII C, obtained the result that the average value of students pre test and post test is given treatment that is by using video teaching media that has been developed by researchers. This shows there is a significant increase. The result of the average pre-test score before the learning process using video teaching media that is as much as 70.1 while the average post test after using video teaching media get the value of 94. This shows an increase of 23.9 between before the learning and after learning by using video teaching medium.
