Abstract

This paper aims to explain how the role and implementation of traditional games in the planting of love character of the homeland in high school students of elementary school. This type of research is qualitativedescriptive using three data analyzes. The method used in this research is interview, observation, and documentation. Validity of data in this research is triangulation technique and source triangulation. The results of this study indicate that the existence of traditional game habituation is able to instill a variety of characters that reflect the character of homeland love in the students little by little. Characters formed through this traditional game can be applied in everyday life as well as stock of students to live in society. In addition, the role of traditional games in instilling the character of homeland love in high-class students is a game as a filler of leisure time during breaks and as a positive activity for emotional expression of students. Students can learn to control emotions while playing traditional games.
