Abstract

Injectable contraception is a method of contraception that is still in great demand by people in Pekalongan City. Based on the data of Pekalongan City Health Office in 2017, the use of injecting contraception in Pekalongan City was 21,623 from 37,915 the number of family planning participants. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of contraceptive use of Depo Medroksi Progesterone Acetate (DMPA) on weight gain and or blood pressure at Pekalongan Health Center. This study included non experimental research cross sectional approach, sampling technique used in this research is purposive convenience sampling. The number of subjects of this study were 71 samples of contraceptive acceptor acceptors. The data obtained were analyzed using Chi Square test. The result of Chi Square test for weight and systolic and diastolic blood pressure calculation of injecting contraceptive values showed that p> 0.05, the results showed that there was no influence of DMPA injection use on weight gain and systolic and diastolic blood pressure.
