Planthopper pests at this time is one of the pests that significantly resulted in rice farmers failing to harvest rice or harvest crops. Utilization of pesticides for controlling the pests of planthoppers in addition to large costs can also potentially damage the environment. Increasing science and technology on renewable energy sources at this time will be useful develop a device that can control pests especially planthopper pests in the ideal way. Utilizing the characteristics of planthopper pests that like the light, it will be developed devices that emit light automatically at night so that planthopper pest will come to the light source. Then around the light source will be installed electric wire as utilized on the mosquito racket so that the planthopper pest will be stung to death. The bottom of the device will be installed room for the dead planthopper pest. This device utilizes a medium-sized solar panel and the generated energy will be stored in the battery to turn on the lights and electric wires at night. It also uses an LDR-based sensor for lights switching and electric wires. The device utilizes a battery (accu) with the capacity of 12 V / 6 Ah supplied by solar panels with the current of 0.86 A and obtained charging time of 8 hours 21 minutes 36 seconds, This battery supplies DC voltage to the battere lighting up high lamp load Voltage Stun Gun that has a total current of 0.4 A. The battery usage time (batteries) is estimated as long as 15 hours.
