Abstract

The study was aimed to (1) describe the form of learning outing class at Elemetary School of Al Firdaus Surakarta (2) describe the application of outing class method in thematic learning at Elemetary School of Al Firdaus Surakarta (3) describe the benefits of outing class method in thematic learning at Elemetary School of Al Firdaus Surakarta. This research was a qualitative research and used a case study single research design with techniques for collecting the data by using observation, interview, and documentation. This study used data validity test with triangulation technique and triangulation source. Data analysis techniques used data reduction, data presentation, and data clarification. The result of this study were (1) the form of leaerning outing class at Elemetary School of Al Firdaus Surakarta namely: a) learning with nature around, b) games, and c) outbound; (2) application of outing class method in thematic learning there were 3 stages, namely: a) implementation, b) realization, and c) evaluation; (3) the benefits of outing class methods on thematic learning were: a) the material was more concrete and easily understood by the students, b) the students were able to interected with community, and c) the students’ learning motivation.
