Abstract
Background : Total Knee Replacement is a surgical option in Osteoarthritis because joint pain and synovitis can’t be done with conservative therapy, surgical procedures are performed on signs and symptoms, activity level, timing, severity of articular discharge. Objective : To know the function of exercise therapy to reduce pain, reduce edema, increase muscle strength, improve the scope of joint motion and also restore ability of functional activity of patient Results: After 6 weeks of therapy, the result of pain reduction with VAS pain at rest of FT 0: 2 to FT 6: 0, pain at FT 0: 5 to FT 6: 2, tenderness when pressed FT 0: 4 Became FT 6: 1. Muscle strength with MMT increases the value of flexor knee muscle, ie FT 0: 2 to FT 6: 3, Knee FT 0: 1 extender muscle becomes FT 6: 3. LGS with the goneometer has an active FT flexion increase of 0: 45˚ to FT 6: 80o, FT 0: -10˚o extension motion becomes FT 6: 0˚o, Passive motion flexion FT 0: 50o to FT 6: 85˚, extension FT 0: 0o to FT 6: 0o, measurement of circular segment odema on ankle FT 0: 63cm to FT 6: 55cm, 5cm from proximal tubersity tibia FT 0: 40cm to FT 0: 34cm, 5cm from distal tuberosity tibia FT 0 : 40cm to FT 6: 34cm and 10cm from distal tuberosity tibia FT 0: 36cm to FT 6: 32cm. Conclusion: Exercise therapy can reduce pain, reduce edema increase muscle strength, and increase the scope of joint motion and improve the functional activity of the patient.
