Abstract

This study aims to determine the form and implementation of insurance for employees of the fire department of Surakarta City. Forms of insurance provided to employees in the Surakarta City Fire Department are health insurance whose implementation is provided through the Social Security Administering Body established by the government, BPJS Kesehatan. Surakarta Fire Department is a government-formed body that employs a workforce of 95 people consisting of 59 Civil Servants (PNS) or permanent employees and 36 Persons are Honorary Employees. Efforts to improve the welfare of employees is very important, because the performance tasks of the staff of the Fire Department of the City of Surakarta is very risky and at times can experience events in the form of work accidents. So it needs special protection in order to provide health, welfare, and work safety in order to create maximum work productivity. But since the implementation of BPJS Employees in the fire department of Surakarta City only get health protection only while the protection of accidents is not given specifically by the Government and the fire department of Surakarta City.
