Abstract
Background: Tennis elbow or lateral epicondylitis is the most common presentation of lateral elbow pain. Lateral epicondylitis is a common sports injury of the elbow caused due to altered muscle activation during repetitive wrist extension in many athletic and non-athletic endeavours. The amount of muscle activity and timing of contraction eventually is directly dependent upon joint position during the activity. The purpose of our study was to compare the grip strength in athletes with lateral epicondylalgia in two different wrist extension positions and compare them between involved and uninvolved sides of athletes and non-athletes. Objective: To determine the effect of ultrasound and exercise therapy on pain, increase muscle strength, and improvement of functional ability in patients with tennis elbow. Results: After six times of therapy, the obtained result a decrease in pain and increase in musle strenght --- muscle activator dextra elbow and improvement of functional ability. Conclusion: After treatment on tennis elbow condition dextra with ultrasound modalities and therapeutic exercise as much as six times the pain inspection with VDS (Visual Description Scale), muscle strength with MMT (Manual Muscle Testing), and functional ability with MEPI (Mayo Elbow Performance Index), showed a decrease in pain and an increase in muscle strength - dextra elbow mover muscles.
