Abstract

This research aims to describe: (1) markers of coherence contained in the discourse of the daily editorial Kompas edition April 2018; (2) marker of coherence contained in the discourse of the daily editorial Kompas edition April 2018. Relevance of the editorial as an Indonesian language in high school. This research uses type research descriptive qualitative with the approach of content study. The results this study shows the existence of cohesiveness of discourse in editorial, that is (1) marker the grammatical cohesion found consisting of reference, replacement, conjunction, and releases. (2) the use of the highest lexical cohesion marker, the repetition shown as many, antonym, synonim, hyponim, and the equivalent. (3) the found coherence marker is composed from causality, contrast, additive, details, temporal, and coherence not perian perian as much as 1 data. The coherence markers that the domain emerges are markers of coherence contrast. Seen from the results found that the marker of contrast as. The daily Kompas editorial has tje potential to be used and developed as a learning material for learning Indonesian in high school class XII.
