Abstract
Turbo cyclone is one of air compression technology, by way of air passing turbo cyclone whose air velocity is made more focused. This additional tool is used in internal combustion engine that serves to create a flow that will enter into the combustion chamber into swirlling. Turbo cyclone causes a change in airflow characteristics, namely the emergence of pressure drop in the combustion chamber and the intake manifold air into the combustion chamber is formed turbulently. This study was conducted to determine the performance of 4-stroke gas motor with the use of the addition of cyclone turbo tool with the number of blades 3 and 4 at 40 ° slope, compared to standard motor vehicles. The independent variables used are turbo cyclone and filter variation. While the control variables include engine rotation of 4500 rpm to 8000 rpm, transmission at entry position 2, pertamax and premium fuel, and using Honda Supra X 125 engine. For the dependent variable that is to obtain a machine comparison to the performance of the motor in the form of power (kW), torque (Nm) and fuel consumption (gr / s). This research was conducted in AHHAS 1272 TARUNA MOTORSPORT and in the laboratory of Mechanical Engineering Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. Based on the research results can be concluded that the variation of vehicles by using the addition of cyclone turbo on Honda Supra X 125 vehicles can improve motor performance. The highest results obtained from the research is the highest power is on the variation of turbo cyclone with the number of 4 blades at 40 ° premium fuel slope that is 5.341 kW at 7000 rpm rotation and the highest torque of 8.9347 Nm at 4500 rpm rotation. In fuel consumption the lowest value is found in the cyclone turbo variation with the number of 4 blades with a slope of 40 °premium fuel of 0.09339 gr / s.
