Abstract

Abstract This study aims to: (1) describe the role of headmaster as a leader, (2) describe the implementation of Adiwiyata school program throught waste management, (3) describe the suporting factors and obstacles of Adiwiyata school program throught waste management. This type research is qualitative descriptive. Data collection techniques include interviews, observation, documentation. Data were analyzed by data reduction, data presentation, conclusion. Technique examination of data validty throught source triangulation technic. Data Source in this study principal and special teacher in charge of program Adiwiyata and student elementary school gedong 2. The results of the study conclude that: (1) The role of school headmaster as a leader in Adiwiyata school program throught waste management includes: (a) headmaster leadership strategy in implementation Adiwiyata school program throught waste management, (b) headmaster leadership style, using democratic leadership style, (2) Implementation of Adiwiyata school program throught waste management includes: (a) enviromentally sound policies, (b) partisipatory enviromental activities, (c) enviromentally sound curriculum, (d) management of facilities and infrastructure, (3) Supporting factors and inhibiting factors of Adiwiyata school program through waste management. Supporting factors formed from the active role of the school community to join maintain and manage the school program Adiwiyata through waste management properly. Inhibiting factors of students still have to be reminded by teachers in the activities of Adiwiyata school program through waste management.
