Abstract

Corn is a plant that is resistant to water stress. In Kecamatan Kemusu maize planted in rain-fed rice fields that rely only on rain water for irrigation. In the dry season there is no water supply so it is necessary to know the water requirement for corn plant and good planting pattern so that the water requirement of corn plant can be fulfilled. Corn water requirements are influenced by climate, rainfall, moisture content and the characteristics of the plant. The object of this research is corn plant with the method used is secondary data analysis with assisted application of Cropwat 8.0 to determine standard evapotranspiration rate, crop water requirement and arrangement of plant irrigation. Data analysis is based on each type of soil because the soil has an important role for the growth of corn crops. Water availability in Kecamatan Kemusu in the March-August planting period is sufficient even a surplus. On the ground grumusol March-April is a month that is slightly prone because of soil moisture decline until the position near the water condition line is readily available. The same thing also happened to litosol soil in March - May. In regosol soil the availability of water is quite safe, but it should be noted in the final phase of growth almost near the water condition line readily available.
