Abstract
Abstract Tooth that needs root canal treatment of necrosis. Root canal treatment is divided three stages, stage preparation of root canal biomechanical, stage cleaning and formation of a root canal with room entrances open pulpa of the sterilization phase, the coronal with irrigation and disinfection of channels the root and stage obturasi. Endodontically treated teeth more susceptible to fracture. Correct restoration can minimize fracture risk, for post-core system. The selection of the post type should be observed during restoration of the post core. Fiber reinforced composite post divided into prefabricated and fabricated. Based on the FRC post configuration consisting of smooth and serrated. Fracture resistance of affected teeth owned variations such as age, the time span after the extraction, storage conditions of the teeth. Factors that influence the effectiveness of FRC post used resin, among others, while the post restoration of root fracture system after root canal treatment is influenced by the shape or configuration of posts. The objective of this study was to the difference of fracture resistance of fiber reinforced composite type smooth and serrated. The sample of this study were 32 mandibullary premolars that were coronally removed so apicocoronally lenght was 16 mm. The samples was treated endodontically crown down method with gutta percha and resin sealer. The tooth after root canal treatment is continued with the preparation of the post using precission drill. The samples divided into two group based : A. FRC post type smooth, B. FRC post type serrated. Samples were loaded to failure with a Universal Testing Machine. The result of this research showed that there was a fracture resistance differencs of FRC post type smooth and serrated. Fiber reinforced composite type serrated is more resistance to fracture than FRC type smooth. Key Words: Prefabricated FRC post, FRC post type smooth and serrated, fracture resistance.
