Abstract

Introduction: Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease that is characterized by the presence of inflammation so the swelling, pain and often eventually cause damage to the inside of the joint. Rheumatoid arthritis in addition to resulting in physical disorders can also lead to the existence of psychological disorders. Psychological disorders such as anxiety and depression can affect the activity of patients arthritis rheumatoid. Prevalence of anxiety and depression on the disease rheumatoid arthritis prevalence is about twice that seen in the general population. Research Objectives: This research aims to m knowing the psychological response to sufferers of rheumatoid arthritis in community. Research methodology: this research is quantitative research with the research methods of analytical deksriptif. sample research as much as 77 respondents sufferers of rheumatoid arthritis that is taken as a quota sampling from 11 villages in the region's debt clinic. Data processing technique using the technique of central tendency. Conclusion: Based on the results of research in the get that: 1) Characteristics of the respondents on the basis of age in the age range get 51-58 years who suffer from rheumatoid arthritis, 2) gender women more suffering from rheumatoid Arthritis than men with work as a housewife, 3) educational level most namely educated primary school (elementary school), 4) psychological factors that affect sufferers of rheumatoid arthritis that is causing anxiety and depression.
