Abstract
Based on testing of Atteberg limits, the soil in Kemiri, Kebakkramat, Karanganyar has plasticity index value of 37.72% including clay soil with high plasticity so that soil needs stabilization to be done. In this research, stabilization method using 5% gypsum and tras with percentage 0%; 2.5%; 55; 7.5% and 10% of the sample weight. The tests include physical properties and mechanical properties on the original soil dan mixed soil. Based on the result of physical properties, water content, liquid limit, plasticity index and percentage of filter number 200 decreased with incresing percentage of tras and 5% gypsum while specific gravity, plastic limit and shrinkage limit increased. Based on AASHTO, the original soil and mixed soil include A-7-6. Based on USCS, the original soil dan soil + 5% gypsum includES CH while mxed soil includes CL. In density test, dry weight volume increased while wopt decreased with increasing percentage of tras and 5% gypsum. The consolidation test results showed that Cv value increased with increasing percentage of tras and 5% gypsum while Cc and Sc decreased. The value of Cv on original soil is 0.00279 cm2/s and the value of soil + 5% gypsum is 0.00287 cm2/s. The value of Cc on original soil is 0.5041 and the Cc value of soil + 5% gypsum is 0.4352. The value of Sc on original soil is 0,0920 cm and the Sc value of soil + 5% gypsum is 0,0877 cm.
