Abstract
Natural insecticides are drugs used to eradicate harmful insect. Bactrocera sp. is one type of insect that can cause damage to some types of fruits that are detrimental to fruit growers. The use of natural insecticides from basil and margosatree leaf can eradicate the fruit fly of Bactrocera sp. The aim this research is to know effectively the natural insecticide of basil extract (Ocimum basilicum) and margosatree leaf extract with different type of solvent and the variation of concentration to fruit fly mortality (Bactrocera sp.). This research is an experimental research with quantitative descriptive data analysis and using Kruskall-Wallis advanced analysis. This study consisted of 6 treatments and 2 factors. The first factor is the type of insecticide with different solvent and the second factor is the concentration of insecticide. The result of insecticide research on the mortality of fruit fly was the highest in the treatment of natural insecticide of basil plant extract and margosatree leaf extract with methanol solvent and 65% concentration with mean mortality of 96.67%. These results indicate that basil and margosatree leaves can be used as natural insecticides that can eradicate fruit flies.
