Abstract
The research investigates the right for recognition of lesbianism in Kimberly Peirce’s Boys Don’t Cry by a Feminist Approach. The researcher sets two objective analyses the movie in term of structural elements and to analyze the movie based on the Feminist Approach. This is qualitative study using the movie of Kimberly Peirce’s Boys Don’t Cry the object analysis of the study. There are two kinds’ data of sources: primary and secondary data sources. The primary source data is the movie and secondary data sources is namely biography of the author, website relate with the movie, and theory of feminist approach. The technique of data analysis is descriptive analysis The outcome of the study is as follows: first, in this movie Kimberly Peirce wants to illustrate how lesbianism is discriminate, second, Kimberly Peirce wants to deliver a message to other people that everyone has right to choose his or her sexual orientation, and the last is Kimberly wants to describes the striving of lesbianism to get their right and recognition.
