Abstract

Background: LBW is caused by short pregnancy (prematurity), and IUGR (Intra Uterine Growth Restriction) which in Indonesian is called Fetal Growth Hampered (PJT) or both. Both of these causes are influenced by risk factors, such as maternal factors, placenta, fetus and the environment. These risk factors cause a lack of nutritional fulfillment in the fetus during pregnancy. Babies with low birth weight generally experience long-term life processes that are less good. If not dying at the onset of birth, LBW infants have a risk of growing and developing more slowly than babies born with normal weight Aim: This study was conducted with the aim to analyze the relationship between BMI, Parity, maternal age with LBW incidence Method: This research uses Descriptive analytic research design with cross sectional approach. The sample used were 97 respondents of postpartum mother taken by simple random sampling technique. The data obtained are secondary data taken from maternal medical record data in 2016 Result: Based on the results of research that has been done, there is a relationship between BMI, Parity, Age of mothers with the incidence of LBW. Largest age who experienced LWB that is at the age of 31-40 years with 74.2% percentage, while the most parity who experience LBW that is in the risk group (primipara) with the percentage of 64.9% and BMI of mother at risk of experiencing LBW is low IMT with a percentage of 68.0%.. Conclusion: There is a relationship between BMI, Parity, maternal age with LBW incidence.
