Abstract

There are environmental problems caused by conventional plastics which lead a breakthrough in the creation of bioplastics. Bioplastic is a plastic polymer that comes from nature. One source of bioplastic form of cellulose derived from plants. Cellulose is a component that dominates carbohydrates, reaching 50%. The yellow mask banana hump contains 12% carbohydrates. To determine the effect of the mechanical properties of bioplastic result of this material, the isolated with the method of Waliszewski chemically by adding 0.2% sodium metabisulfite (gram / liter) of water. The addition of the sodium compound is necessary to disable the enzymatic browning. The browning enzyme can be least optimal constraint of starch insulation. Variations imposed by adding water (100; 150; 200; 250; and 300) ml to 50 grams of material at the temperature of the crystal (60; 70; 80; 90 and 100) ° C. Determination of starch isolation result was analyzed by starch hydrolysis method. The optimum starch content is 42.86% (as sample A) and 36.29% (as sample B) for the manufacture of bioplastics, subsequently varied to starch composition (5, 6, 7, 8, and 9) grams, acetic acid (1, 2, 3, 4, and 5) ml, glycerol (2, 3, 4, 5, and 6) ml and chitosan (1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, and 3) grams. The results of bioplastic mechanical properties express the effect of high starch content and the addition of glycerol to a larger yield, ie 2.03 MPa; 21% (tensile strength, elongation), compared to competitors' variables.
