Abstract

Earthquake is one of the most frequent disasters and its distribution is relatively even in the subduction zones of Indonesian territory. Sub-district of Changwarno and Wedi Sub-district of Klaten Regency is an area of earthquake hazard due to earthquake based in Bantul, Yogyakarta. In Peak Ground Acceleration (PGA) seismic analysis is a measure of how the earth's surface vibrates in a particular region. The value of Peak Ground Acceleration in this research is obtained from the calculation of McGuire attenuation (1963). This study aims to: (1) analyze the distribution of PGA values to earthquakes in Sub-district of Mewwarno and Wedi Sub-districts; (2) to know the distribution of Modified Mercalli Intensity (MMI) scale based on PGA values; and (3) to analyze the distribution of earthquake hazard zones in each unit form of land. The data used are earthquake data from 1987-2017, Landsat 8 image, and RBI Central Java. The data processing is done with M.S Excell to calculate PGA value with McGuiree attenuation (1963) and Geographic Information System application with Kriging Interpolation method to create earthquake danger zone. The results showed that the value of PGA variation in Kecamatan Tunwarno and Wedi sub-districts ranged from 204,105 to 155,105. The value indicates that the earthquake hazard zone is included in the classification of Three Great Hazards in Sub-district of Mewwarno and Danger Two in Wedi Sub-district. Wedi Sub-district and Sub-district of Mewwarno are areas prone to earthquake disaster and the resulting impact is quite large, because it is included in the scale of MMI VI and VI-VIII. The damage to the condition of each unit of the landform is subject to damage and different effects in the event of an earthquake, which would be a further disaster to humans.
