Abstract
At the end of 2016, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) consumption in Indonesia is nearly seven million metric tons. This, of course, affects the businessmen who produce oil stoves have decreased the turnover, even some businessmen out of the business. On the other hand, this situation has a positive impact on gas stove manufacturers. The gas stove with two furnace is one of the most used gas stoves in the world. However, the form of a gas stove two furnace that is too large can cause storage costs and shipping costs to be large. Due to that problem, then conducted research to redesign the design of gas stove with two furnaces for easy to be distributed, carried by the consumer or to be stored. The method used is Boothroyd-Dewhurst's Design for Assembly (DFA) method. Prior to this study, the assembly efficiency of gas stove with two furnace was 9% with the total assembly time of 601.95 seconds. Following the analysis by DFA Boothroyd-Dewhurst method, the assembly efficiency of the given design concept increased to 23.5% with 217.2 seconds assembly time. The initial size of the two-stove gas stove pack is 720 mm x 390 mm x 115 mm. After the analysis with DFA Boothroyd-Dewhurst method, the packaging size becomes 500x410x150 mm.
