Abstract
Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is one of the (SSW) methods. The welding process utilizes heat due to rotation of the tool which rubs against the base metal under large axial pressure at the welding area. Used to connecting hard welded material with fussion welding. The parameters used in (FSW) are rpm, feed rate, probe power, and probe design, In this research, (FSW) is done on milling machine. Material used by Alumunium 7075 with Fe. 3 mm thick dimension using a connection type butt joint with angle 3 o . Variations of feed rate used 30 mm / min, 40 mm / min, and 50 mm / min, From material welding Alumunium 7075 got result that welding with feed rate 40 mm / minute getting best result. The average hardness value is 190,886 HVN, the average tensile strength is 30,88 Mpa. Better than welding with feed rate 30 mm / min and 50 mm / minute. Successively, the mean hardness value was 177,678 HVN and 190,546 HVN. While the mean tensile strengths are 6.99 Mpa and 17,80 Mpa. The microstructure results show grain growth in the HAZ section. In the weld nugget section shows a small and tight microstructure view.
